And this is a passion that has stimulated us to create a site like this one, dedicated to those who fish as a profession as well as anyone who want to take a closer look to learn all the secrets of fishing. Fish-tourism is the very best way to make this dream come true, and at the same time it is the most realistic way to get past the glossy fiction served up to tourists in order to learn about what life is really like at sea. In this window onto the world of fishing, we want to show you the marvels of our coastlines, help you understand the reasons for choosing fish-tourism, guide you with itineraries that go from the beach to the high seas - so that this guide will also help you gain a more profound appreciation for Italy's natural beauty. When you board our boats, you'll be right alongside people who, generation after generation, spend over 200 days a year at sea, guided first and foremost by their love for seafaring, with a heritage of culture, tradition and lifestyle that unites tastes and smells, knowledge and intuition, legend and nature - a heritage we want to share with you.

We have drawn up brief sketches to help you choose the itinerary that best suits your way of travelling.

As you enter the site through a map of Italy, first of all you'll find a presentation of the spot you've selected, with geographical indications and a description of the sea and coastline, proposals for land/sea itineraries with the archaeological and historic sites and the landscapes of the area, a schedule of the main festivals and seafaring events of each area, plus suggestions concerning the local food and wine. Then each of the cooperatives will be presented to you, with a short indication of the best periods for practicing fish-tourism, the craft and available spots on board, the techniques and fishing instruments that are used, and the types of fish that are caught.

With our "Fishing School", you'll learn some simple and basic concepts that will give you a better idea of what happens on board during a fishing expedition.

Our "Contest" is dedicated to all those who want to try their hands at writing and photography to recount their travel experiences. You don't have to be a fledgling Hemingway to participate - stories and pictures submitted by children are also welcome. This and much more is waiting for you: welcome aboard and happy sailing!
